Today, in the world that we live in, most people encounter sexual assaults especially to women, & children. They are frequently victimized, there are many different types of sexual assault

Sexual assault includes:
  • Rape—sexual intercourse against a person’s will
  • Forcible sodomy
  • Forcible object penetration
  • Marital rape
  • Unwanted sexual touching
  • Sexual contact with minors, whether consensual or not
  • Incest (Sexual intercourse or sexual intrusion between family members.)
  • Any unwanted or coerced sexual contact
Other sexual crimes include:
  • Sexual harassment
  • Solicitation of minors through the Internet
  • Possession of child pornography

HOW OFTEN DOES IT HAPPEN? ————-««

Anyone can be a victim of sexual assault, though women, children and some demographic groups are more frequently victimized than others. The prevalence of sexual assault goes far beyond the cases that make it to the courtroom or the evening news. Sexual assault impacts hundreds of thousands of people each year in the United States from all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. However, low reporting rates and varying research designs make it difficult to find one set of statistics that tells the whole story.

Most Victims Know Their Attacker (Acquaintance Rape) . About 85 to 90 percent of sexual assaults reported by college women are perpetrated by someone known to the victim; about half occur on a date. The most common locations are the man's or woman's home in the context of a party or a date.

As rape and sexual assault victims grapple with life post-trauma, one of the loaded questions that is sometimes asked is, “What were you wearing?”

»»—  there will be always someone who will tell us that the way we dress will always be the reason of Sexual Assault.

̶̶̶̶ ̶«̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶̶̶ ̶«̶ ̶̶̶ ̶     HOW WE DRESS?     »̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶̶̶ ̶»̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶

In my country, the Philippines, 14.5 percent of girls age 13-17 have experienced sexual violence, according to the 2015 National Baseline Study on Violence against Children. Violence against women and children leaves a profound impact on the health, dignity, security and autonomy of individuals. It leaves deep psychological scars that can take years to overcome. Yet it remains shrouded in a culture of silence.
An exhibit on gender based violence  https://www.facebook.com/engrrentosa/posts/2317031138533251
— the exhibit shows clothing as innocent as the victims themselves.
— the exhibit shows that even innocent children can also be a victim
— the exhibit shows that ITS NOT THE WAY WE DRESS, BUT ITS BECAUSE OF A PERSON’S LACK OF SELF-CONTROL

I am here to say that...

Clothing is no way the reason for sexual assault.

"We will not change the way we dress because it's more convenient for your lack of self control."
— Unknown.

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart"

  5. It is not only the fault of the suspect's uncontrollable intensions. I'm not saying that it's also the victims fault because of their will of clothing. My point is, what your wearing should not be too revealing. It will also lead women to danger at some cases. My tip is when going outside, just wear a normal attire like all most people do. Anyways, Nice creative blog and keep it up. I learned many things.

  6. I really appreciate that you decided to cover up this topic, afterall it is happening not only in the Philippines but all around the globe. However, I do believe that both parties should be blamed. Yes, It is their fault for lacking self-control but do we still need to give way to it? Don't misunderstand, I would be gladly support on having to wear what we want without feeling uncomfortable and being scared of a possible sexual assault. I just want us to keep in mind that this country is definitely not the safest and I do want to start a movement but I also want us to take precautions to avoid things such as being catcalled, rape and etc. Anyways, this blog has been very alarming. Thank You for sharing your POV in this issue. Have a good day!

  7. In most cases men do often does the raping, cat calling, etc. But sometimes it's not just men it could be everyone, don't just put the blame on men any gender could be sexual harassing any people. Did the world came to this way just because mostly men does these stuff we should only put the blame on them? Dont forget that anyone could do all these stuff
